- •3 tbsp cornstarch
- •1 tbsp avocado oil (or other high-heat oil)
- •1 cup honey (dark amber)
- •1 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- •4 cloves garlic (minced)
- •1 tbsp rice vinegar
- •1 tsp toasted white sesame seeds (for garnish)
- •2 stalks green scallions (freshly chopped)
Instructions
- 1
Drain the extra-firm tofu and press for 15 minutes using a heavy object to remove excess moisture. Slice into 1-inch cubes.
- 2
Toss tofu cubes with avocado oil and cornstarch in a bowl until every cube has a dry, even coating.
- 3
Place cubes in a single layer in the air fryer basket at 400°F (200°C). Air fry for 15-18 minutes, shaking halfway through.
- 4
In a small saucepan, whisk honey, soy sauce, garlic, and vinegar. Simmer over medium heat until it becomes a thick, glossy glaze.
- 5
Toss the hot crispy tofu in the warm honey garlic glaze. Serve in a bowl garnished with toasted sesame seeds and freshly chopped green scallions.
