
Soft Apple Cinnamon Rolls

These apple cinnamon rolls feature a lovely combination of tender dough, cooked apples, and sweet cinnamon. The dough is delightfully soft, making it a joy to peel apart each roll without breaking. Perfect for apple season, these rolls are best served fresh from the oven, topped with creamy frosting. Indulge in this delightful treat for breakfast, brunch, or a cozy afternoon snack.
Ingredients
- •500 g all-purpose flour
- •1.5 tsp salt
- •2.25 tsp instant dry yeast
- •120 g sugar
- •240 ml lukewarm milk
- •60 g unsalted melted butter (cooled to room temperature)
- •1 whole egg (at room temperature)
- •0.5 tsp vanilla essence
- •220 g brown sugar
- •2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- •60 g unsalted butter (cooled to room temperature)
- •2 whole apples
- •110 g cream cheese (at room temperature)
- •3 tbsp icing sugar
- •0.5 tsp vanilla extract
- •30 g whipping cream
Instructions

Mix the lukewarm milk, egg, vanilla essence, and melted butter.

In a separate bowl, mix all the dry ingredients and create a hole in the center.

Add the wet ingredients into the hole and mix until you have a uniform dough.

Let the dough rest for 1 hour covered in cling film or until it doubles in size.

Peel the apples, remove the core, and cut them into small cubes.

Cook the apples in butter over medium heat until they are soft and no liquid remains.

Dust flour on a clean tabletop and roll the dough to 2mm thick.

Paint melted butter on top of the rolled dough.

Mix the brown sugar and ground cinnamon and spread it over the dough.

Start rolling the dough tightly and cut into 4cm rolls.

Place the rolls on a baking tray lined with baking paper and let them sit for 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake for 20-30 minutes or until golden.

Whip together the cream cheese, vanilla, and icing sugar.

Add the whipping cream little by little while whipping.
